Youth
Explore your faith

“Claim the Name” This Sunday morning class is designed especially for middle school youth. It serves as both a Sunday school and Confirmation class. In small groups you learn about God, Jesus and the church. You’ll explore and discuss your Christian faith. Gather together at 10:35 in the Youth Room for some munchies and maybe some air hockey. Then you’ll do hands-on learning (including creating stuff, games and group competitions) and share your ideas!

The Confirmation process includes classes, mentors and other experiences during the 8th grade. It ends with an interview where you decide if you would like to join the church. This year’s Confirmation dinner is on April 23rd and Confirmation Sunday is April 27th.

Senior High youth meet on Sunday mornings at 10:50 a.m. This casual class is a chance to discuss ways your faith applies to your daily life. Answer the question: what does it mean to be a Christian youth in today’s world? Senior High youth are welcome to attend adult weeknight studies.

Lenten programs. During Lent, youth will have additional opportunities to learn and serve.

Serving Others

  Being with children
Do you enjoy little kids?

You can sign up to be a regular volunteer in our toddler/children’s programs.
This would be a monthly commitment during worship time.
You may also have your name added to the church babysitting list.

Being part of the Worship Team
You can serve as an acolyte or crucifer in Traditional worship.
Can you sing, play an instrument, dance or act?

Youth participate in the Praise Band, One Voice choir and provide special music for both worship services. The youth lead worship and provide dramas several times throughout the year. On fifth Sundays, the youth serve as liturgists and ushers in Traditional worship.

One Voice choir is for middle school and Sr. High youth. The choir practices Sunday mornings at 11:30 a.m. The choir shares the gift of song throughout the year at Traditional worship.

The Praise Band practices on Thursdays at 7 p.m. Contact Michelle Turner for more information.

Sr. High Mission Trip
Each year in mid-July youth ages 14-18 travel together to spend a week serving others. There are fundraising and attendance requirements to help the team reach its goal.

(See the next page for more info!)
