2008 CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS MUSICAL

The “tails” have gathered ‘round to tell the Christmas story! So, mark your calendars! Save your Wednesday evenings! It’s time again for the Children’s Christmas Musical for students in grades K through 5!

Rehearsals begin Wednesday, November 5th, from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Additional rehearsals are November 12 and 19, December 3 and 10. Our dress rehearsal will be on Saturday, December 13th, from 10:00—Noon. We will share our musical with our church family on Sunday, December 14th at the combined 9:30 worship service. Call Allison Rhoades or Jennifer Voight for more information. Come and be a part of the fun!

Chancel Choir
We sing a variety of genres and styles of quality literature about three Sundays per month at the traditional service. Auditions are not required, but the two qualities that are most important are dependability and 'teachability'. Musical skill or experience is welcomed, but not a prerequisite, only a willing heart and voice. All singers who are at least High School age are welcome to join the choir. College and career singers are especially encouraged. Are you single, married, divorced or widowed? We have teachers, engineers, salespersons, sailors, homemakers, administrators, computer geeks - and a few musicians - in our choir. Come and give it a try! Babysitting provided as needed.

One Voice (Youth Choir)
Grades 6-12, ages 11-18. Vocalists usually sing in 2 or 3 part style. Music will be selected with input from the participants. The choir sings for the traditional service about once a month, as well as the 4:30pm Christmas Eve Service, and leads the Easter "Son"rise Service.

Praise Band
Our Eternal Praise Band is always looking for musicians and others to participate in worship leadership for our contemporary service. Contact Scott Turner or Ed Byrd for more information.

Handbells
We have three different bell choirs that perform about once per month at the traditional service. Contact Sheryl Dukes or Nancy Heffron for more information.

Rehearsals for the 2008-2009 year begin Monday, September 8:

  • Genesis (Beginners)—4:30-5:15 Listen
  • Jubellee (grades 5-12)—5:30-6:40 Listen
  • Bellissima (Adults)—6:45-8:15 Listen

Sound Technicians
We have opportunities for people to be trained to run our sound board at both services.
